Great American Music Hall

To me, this is the most beautiful venue in San Francisco, with the best sound. I don’t even know how many shows I’ve seen here after 20 years of living in the city, but to me this is the place I associate the most with the city’s live music scene. I always stand in the back of the room; it’s a habit as a sound guy. For a better view, however, check out the upstairs area, and try to grab a table early—the bar is often faster up there.
