Lucy’s Room in Paradise is in a gorgeous house with a spectacular view of Goleta, the coast and the ocean. My room had a garden view of a lush area that reminded me of Hawaii. As advertised, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. On the other side of the house is an extensive patio for relaxing and enjoying the expansive view. Lucy cooked an Indian curry and shared it one night. Absolutely savory and delicious! The location of the house is easy to find using your phone’s map app. Just have faith that the app can guide you up into the hills along the narrow roads that lead to the house. My schedule kept me fairly busy during my visit to Goleta. Next time, I hope to have more time to relax on the patio and enjoy the house’s tranquility.

This was a beautiful house, just not for the amount that we paid.

WARNING: there is a tenant that lives in a cottage VERY closely to the house. The host did not make this clear. The cottage is at the bottom steps of the main house. We had an all girls weekend getaway and felt VERY uncomfortable. There are NO CURTAINS, so we were visible. This is part of the reason why the price we paid for this weekend didn’t feel adequate.

The wood fire pizza oven was very difficult to start. If the host wasn’t there to call her friend to bring a blow torch, we wouldn’t have got it to start. This should have been stated in the description.

There should have been extra toilet paper, for the amount we paid for this weekend the host should have provided even ONE extra roll of toilet paper, especially knowing the house was booked for 6 people. There was no shampoo, conditioner or body wash provided.

DONT STAY HERE. When we met the host, she seemed nice & even encouraged us to use the pizza oven by sending us a video. After that, everything started to go downhill. The tv did not work, some broken furniture in the rooms, & a strange leak in the kitchen. Later, we found out we couldn’t use the pizza oven due to the wet logs which the host did not warn us about before. Because of this we were wanting to use the oven inside the house to cook the pizza. The oven/stove didn’t work.We called her, & she told us to flip the breaker in the pouring rain! We heard her friend say they knew the breaker has been an issue for a few weeks. The breaker kept popping. She then told us to either leave in the middle of the night with two young kids in the rain, or she would simply buy as a pizza. A few min later, she sent a message saying it is not her responsibility to remedy anything for us and “good luck.” She denied our partial refund even though there were many problems. Unprofessional & rude host.
