This restaurant is hidden in the basement of the Ace Hotel and is popular with east London’s fashionable gay crowd. Enter via the florist to discover a stylish and relaxed restaurant with booth seating where you can while away the afternoon. It’s not overly expensive and does fabulous cocktails. I love it in the afternoon as a place to work—you don’t get bothered or rushed out. It’s the perfect place for a creative business meeting. But it’s also open later than most restaurants so is good for a late drink.

Scandinavian Trendy cool but not overly loud scandinavian restaurant with friendly staff and menu in a form of newsprint, food is tasty, well presented and restaurant entrance is through a flower shop or through main entrance of Ace Hotel. It is open for breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, aperififs, dinner, supper and nightcaps. Great food, great service. Chilled atmosphere with a good buzz about it.

In the Ace Hotel, so a cool vibe, a string trio for brunch (with suitable mohawks typically standing as a juxtaposition to a cello); The food is all-around, but high quality and also open very late for dinner which can be handy after a night in Shoreditch
