The light-filled barn has two large patio doors into a substantial living and entertaining area with a large sectional sofa-bed, a dining table for 10 and adjacent kitchen area with an island. There is a downstairs washroom. A large light-filled upstairs sleeping area has a king-size bed and a bathroom with shower. Outside is a patio dining area and parking in a dedicated driveway.

Just 30 min to Mohawk or Southington Ski Mountains. Just 10 min to downtown Litchfield, close to local farms & vineyards. For security we have two exterior cameras facing the door & driveway.

The area is a prime location, as it offers some of the most stunning and scenic hikes & drives in the country. Only a 10 minute drive from Kent, New Milford or Pawling.

The Farmhouse

Enjoy staying at our charming Farmhouse in the heart of our working dairy farm. Our farm sits on some of the most beautiful hills in Cornwall with the famous Gateway to Cornwall view where you can see our dairy cows grazing in the grandeur of nature. Come say hello to the cows in the barn during milking or watch the herd cross the road evoking sites you might expect to see in small European farming villages. You'll likely see us on our tractors bringing hay and water to our cows!

Private second floor apartment with entrance. Detached from the host's main house. Overlooks perennial herb and flower gardens located in the backyard. Walking distance to White Memorial Nature Preserve and the historic Litchfield Center. Walk or bike from the backyard to shopping, restaurants, art galleries, bakeries, or to a 3000 acre nature preserve and take in the Flora and Fauna. Quiet residential neighborhood that is close to so many amenities and activities.

Feel like you're in your own studio apartment in the spacious, bright lower level of our home! Walk out to your own lounging/dining area. Guests have their own separate entrance & parking space(s). Enjoy the serenity of Camp Columbia state park, as it is our extended backyard. Tip: The sunsets are beautiful! 2 hours from NYC, 30-45 minutes to local skiing & just 10 minutes to Washington Depot. Litchfield County farmhouse (c.1890) with a modern studio addition and distinctive interiors that feature a number of mid-century modern furnishings. The owners are a writer and an architect who have built a truly unique home full of original art and a large book collection. The property itself is small but it is surrounded by 250 acres of farmed conservation land and a short walk will take you past some of the most scenic farms in Litchfield County.

An enjoyable, easy 10 minute walk to the town center for shops & restaurants. A Craftsman Style home, it is casual & comfortable. Though private, we have neighbors that border our property. Guests best suited to our home would be small families or 2 or 3 couples looking for a very quiet small town getaway or a place to call home for a special event in the area. Please note 2 night minimum required and property to be used only by registered guests.
