Discover Little Petra with a local from the Amarin tribe
Little Petra is an old town and caravan station from the era of the Nabateans. It was build before Petra, 2000 B.C. And it is known as it´s little sister - not many tourists have discovered it yet, so it´s way less crowded than Petra. We will start the tour from the entrance of Little Petra, from where we will go hiking to Bir Al Arayes; a Nabatean massive rock-cut water cistern. Then we will continue the tour to the Neolithic Village of Beidha - This place is thought to have been occupied from 7200BC to 6500BC, which makes it one of the first settled villages in human history. After this we go see the Nabatean ruins in Little Petra itself. I will show you around and during the walk there I will also explain more about the history of this place and of the bedouin lifestyle. We continue with a 1,5 hour hike to AlFarsh; a vast and flat area in Beidah, a landscape similar to African safari, full of Juniper trees and still cultivated by locals for growing wheat and Parley, with old houses of limestone. You will enjoy a stunning panorama of Palestine Mountains while you enjoy some Bedouin Tea. Later, after finishing the tour we will drive back to the meeting point with a car I arranged. It is optional to order a lunchbox for 5 JD p.p. extra. Please inform me before. I also offer a shorter tour (1,5 hours): * link *
