Perfect Plain is a great place to spend the evening after a long day at the beach. If craft beer isn’t your thing, then step out back to Garden & Grain: an outdoor, garden inspired, cocktail bar.

There is no better place to take the family to have an experience like no other. This Pensacola landmark has been a staple in the community since 1977. The atmosphere alone is well worth the visit, but the food, craft beer, and specialty cocktails will not disappoint.

Family friendly restaurant on the beach. If you are visiting in the summer, get there early for dinner because the wait can be long during peak season.

Neighborhoods

This neighborhood is safe, quiet, and family friendly. Nestled above Scenic Highway, Scenic Heights is one of the largest neighborhoods in the City of Pensacola. It houses many of Pensacola’s local parks. Most streets have sidewalks that make walking the preferred way of getting around the neighborhood.

Local Beach Spots

If you are looking for low stress and easy beach parking, go where the locals go. These are my favorite beach spots.
Park East is the best beach on the Gulf side to take the kids. There is plenty of parking and a large bathroom facility available there. It is a bit of drive down the beach, but it is well worth it. For those who like snorkeling, there is an artificial reef not far off of the beach.

Fort Pickens is a great place to take the family to spend the day exploring. This historic fort was built in 1834 and survived multiple attacks during the Civil War. This national park also has a few beach accesses that tend to be less crowded than the public beaches. A day pass costs $25 per vehicle.
