Lots of wildlife to observe and housebroke pets welcome. Fire pit, sauna, large deck for grilling. Longer stays most welcomed. Putting green, so bring putter and chipping wedge. This barn refinished into a rustic cabin will give you the feeling that you are in the middle of the woods while having the convenience of being in town. Located just minutes from downtown Clear Lake, the historic Surf Ballroom, and City Beach, this is the perfect get-away spot! A large upper loft makes this a great option for families with kids or a peaceful adult retreat. Pets are family... so we are pet friendly, but do add a $25 dollar pet fee (per pet) for the duration of your stay.

Watts Theatre Apartment Over Main

This Apartment was lived in by owners/builders of Watts Theatre. Mr. Watts was rumored to be acquaintances with Frank Lloyd Wright who was involved in the planning of the building. You will see many of his features including wide sweeping curves thus eliminating many 90 degree angles. While you stay enjoy watching the movie from your own Private Viewing Space in the second bedroom. There are shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 4pm check out our website for specifics.

The Clausen House-Historic home close to the Lake

The Clausen House has been where families have been creating memories since 2018. If you need additional space check out the Schoolhouse vacation rental located on the same property. The Clausen House was built in 1890 and is a great place for large family Gatherings It has been updated with 3 renovated bathrooms, kitchen & laundry room. It has ten foot ceilings on the main floor with beautiful original finished woodwork. Close to downtown and the Lake with only a short walk!

Easily walk to the local bar and restaurant, get coffee or fresh baked goods! Grocery store, pool, park, golf simulator, ice cream, doctors office and pharmacy are all 1-2 blocks away. Open concept living with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Public boat ramp 2 blocks away and you can dock your boat at our dock while you stay!

Apt 1, w/charming deck, discount w/extended stay

Who would think of converting the upstairs of an old train station into two apartments? We did! Everyone is welcome to come explore & enjoy this beautifully done building. Natural woodwork along with some very unique decor lend a hand in preserving the style of the original space. Disclosure: Train noise is endearing to some while a nuisance to others. A set of earbuds or plugs might be in order!

The acreage sits amidst Iowa farmland but is only minutes from the tourist attractions of Clear Lake and the amenities of Mason City.
