We love living here and we're sure you will love staying in our comfortable guest suite with private entrance. Just a short walk from lake Windermere and the centre of Bowness with all its shops, cafes and restaurants. Your suite is separate from the rest of the house and offers a delightful bedroom with comfy king size bed, French doors leading out to a small raised patio and a private, modern bathroom. Please note there is no kitchen, but we do provide a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge.

Claife View is found hidden in the middle of beautiful Bowness-on-Windermere with only minutes walk to the shops, restaurants, and Lake Windermere. This apartment is on the second floor, with a balcony looking out to the fells in the distance. There is ample shared parking in a private car park. It is within easy reach of the world-famous Beatrix Potter Museum and all the pubs that can be found in Bowness. An extra hundred meters, and you will find yourself on the shore of Lake Windermere.

The apartment is a recent creation in a building occupied by a weaving business at the turn of the last century run by a lady designer named Annie Garnet. The apartment is tastefully decorated and fully equipped with a modern kitchen and shower room. The apartment is on the ground floor and has an opening 'Juliet' balcony facing towards the lake. It has its own reserved parking space and is just 200 yards from the centre of the busy village of Bowness and the waterfront of Windermere itself.

Take a scenic boat trip to Waterhead, Ambleside, Lakeside or hire a rowing boat or electric motorboat. An open top bus trip offers another great way to explore the area.

Stay at the Lake View Lodge and enjoy lovely views of Lake Windermere and its mountain backdrop. The Lake View Lodge is a self-contained, wooden lodge with access to three acres of grounds and wild meadows attracting a wonderful array of wildlife including owls, red kites, deer, foxes and woodpeckers. Dorothy’s place is part of an 18th Century Villa. Adults only no children allowed. Everything you need for that perfect romantic break. Guests get full use of the large garden and woodland to take in the stunning view. If travelling by train our advice would be get a taxi from the station as can be difficult to find on foot . Guests are welcome to park up as early as you want before check in or drop luggage off in a safe place,but please let us know in advance.
