JUA HOUSE is a Bed & Breakfast located in the middle of the traditional Swahili village Shela on Lamu island. The interior design combines traditional Swahili woodcraft, African style and a touch of modern artistry. Cleanliness, functionality, comfort, beauty and of course the service to the guest are our top targets. There are five Double Rooms, one Single Room and the Rooftop Suite available. The double rooms are all equipped with king size or twin beds. All rooms their own private bathrooms.

Kai House began when I worked at Mikes Camp for many years and together with the island community we built this house traditional style out of palm fronds and coconut leaves mangroves and driftwood.
