Cad a dhéanfaidh tú

We'll walk in some of Merida's oldest neighborhoods (west side of the colonial city, between 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the group) to talk about the events that took place in each of them. I'll happily do my best to answer all your questions concerning to the subject of the tour or any other that you may have. This neighborhoods are still alive and they all have their own charm and history, they have been witness of many stories and legends.

During the month of october to the 10 of november, this tour will be focused on the celebration of the day of the death (Día de los muertos in Mexico and Hanal pixan in Yucatan). I will talk about history and architecture, but i will talk more about everything that surrounds this dates, wich are probably the most important days of the year for all mexicans.

Let's walk and enjoy!

Hola, I’m Eduardo, i was born and raised in Mérida where I have lived almost all my life. In my childhood I had to travel a lot. In these early trips I discovered my passion for archeology and history and luckily for me, here in Yucatan there is a lot of it! So every chance I had of taking a friend or a guest to know any wonder of this land I took it. That led me into studying tourism here in Mérida and a degree in sustainable tourist development and other in cultural and natural tourism management, both in Spain. Actually I’m studying history.

We'll start our tour in San Juan's church park. The first stop will be there, i'll give you a brief explanation of the content of the tour and some facts of the neighborhood. After we’ll start walking to the other three neighborhoods, stoping in the churches and parks to talk about them and have some refreshment . The order will be: Santa Isabel's hermitage, San Sebastian's church and Santiago's church.

Merida will never look the same after your walk with Eduardo. He has a good knowledge of his native city and is a master storyteller. Walking at night makes for great photography with cooler temperatures. I would highly recommend it.

Eduardo is a friendly guide who speaks very good English and has a lot of Yucatan history to share. We were able to tailor the tour to our interests and got a good understanding of several Mérida neighborhoods in and around the Centro.

If you’re thinking of booking this tour (or any of Eduardo’s other tours) DO IT! In fact— book them all! Eduardo is one of the most informed humans I’ve ever met and will— without a doubt— answer any and every question you have about Mérida. Interested in history? He’s got the stories, names, and dates. Want to know the best restaurants? He’ll tell you what dish to get and will likely know the story behind the family who opened it. Interested in the geography and botany of the Yucatán? Don’t call National Geographic, call Eduardo. The man is like a walking encyclopedia. I can honestly say one of the best decisions I made on my month long trip was booking this tour. I only have one suggestion: don’t forget to wear sunscreen! Thank you Eduardo!!!

We had a lovely walk while learning about the area, it’s history, as well as current events. Merida is a beautiful city and now we know more about it. I can’t think of a better way to spend the morning.

That was amazing! We knew a lot about city history. Moreover, Eduardo told us some interesting facts about Mexican and Ucotan history. Strongly recommended for everyone who wants to know a bit more except well known facts about the city.
